Yet hope\ngrows in the interstices where fact hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t crowded it\nout of sight, the liminal moments that drift\nlike a feather from the clouds, perhaps an angel\nor maybe a hawk striking the killing blow.\nThis juxtaposition sometimes jars, the sharp edges\nof the world ground to smoothness over a lifetime\nof doubt\u00e2\u20ac\u201dyet we take comfort even in the hawk\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s\nfierce triumph, the bloodied talon clenched tight\non its morsel of flesh, our own hunger sated\nfor a moment when we recall the fragile and broken.\nWe too have crouched, shattered, in the shadows\nand waited to catch the eyes of gods.<\/font><\/pre>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jennifer Crow for Anne At first glance, the two don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have much in common: the places cast into darkness, and the objects, rituals, locations which bring the divine close.
