Perhaps a bit predictable?<br \/>\nPerhaps much too mundane?<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153So boring and routine\u00e2\u20ac\u009d she criticized\u00e2\u20ac\u201d<br \/>\nOur oh-so-logical domain<\/p>\n<p>No more gossip or lighthearted chats<br \/>\nWith talking flowers \/ To while away<br \/>\nMirror-bright hours.  Why, her cat<br \/>\nIsn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even Cheshire, and what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s worse<br \/>\nIt refuses to sing, or recite or converse.<br \/>\nAnd she\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s weary of all this schoolwork<br \/>\nIt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s such a thankless task; she longs for fun<br \/>\nOr a little weirdness \u00e2\u20ac\u201c is that too much to ask?<\/p>\n<p>Does she think, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Why, there must be<br \/>\nSomething here that I can eat or drink<br \/>\nWhich will lead to untoward events<br \/>\nOr unexpected consequences?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nIn her experience, tiny notes with instructions<br \/>\nAre often attached to things<\/p>\n<p>(Meanwhile, the other Alice                                                                                                                                                        Must be busy befriending a unicorn<br \/>\nOr chatting up a walrus                                                                                                                                            In a place where the odd-most happenings<br \/>\nAre happily the norm.<br \/>\nIs she so enjoying frumious adventures<br \/>\nShe has no desire to come home?)<\/p>\n<p>Does our alternate Alice long to return<br \/>\nTo her familiar mirror-image dimension?<br \/>\nFor a while, at least, she is condemned<br \/>\nTo wait upon reflections <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When Alice journeyed thru the looking glass Into that other, surreal world Did her mirror-image Alice Simultaneously stride bravely Beyond the silvered surface, Ending up in ours?
