Watts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I may be just a metal woman,<br \/>\nrust for brains,<br \/>\nbut hot lubricant courses through these tubes.<br \/>\nI want more than a battery powered thrust<br \/>\nbetween my legs.<br \/>\nI am looking for love<br \/>\na man to ignite my jets,<br \/>\nbut no one with an ounce of fresh gristle<br \/>\nwants to be held in my solid grasp<br \/>\nThey run as if rocket powered.<\/p>\n<p>I thought I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d build me a man,<br \/>\nall pistons and genuine aluminum six pack.<br \/>\nI collected the parts,<br \/>\ndrew up the schematics,<br \/>\nbut though everything functioned,<br \/>\nwent down and up as needful,<br \/>\nI could never find the place<br \/>\nto install real lasting love.<br \/>\nIt wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t long before he left me<br \/>\nfor a vending machine.<\/p>\n<p>I think I might try again, someday,<br \/>\nto build me a metal mate,<br \/>\na man with big pistons and a sense of fun,<br \/>\nbut first I need to work out<br \/>\nwhere you put the love<br \/>\nand how you keep it there<br \/>\nso it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fall out<br \/>\nor corrode or snap,<br \/>\nunless you want it to,<br \/>\nafter one vend too many.<\/p>\n<p>This poem will be published as part of &#8220;Songs of Steelyard Sue&#8221; (ISBN 9781909252028) by Lapwing Publications later in the summer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I may be just a metal woman, rust for brains, but hot lubricant courses through these tubes.
